New pictures for a very old review: one of the original crew members of the Ark, master of the force field, and yet almost forgotten among current day fans. He is Trailbreaker and this is his original G1 toy (or rather the Encore version of it).

WAR FOR CYBERTRON: SIEGE - PTERAXADON!
The Siege line is full of familiar characters from days gone by, including quite a few Targetmasters (now called Battle Masters) that should have come with the Titans Return figures. It also includes, though, a few out-there characters the likes of which we haven’t seen since Takara’s Arms Micron line. Battle Masters with non-standard robot modes, such as one that looks like a Pteranodon and is called… Pteraxadon. Not sure it’s the weirdest Transformers name ever, but it’s a contender. Here we go!

New pictures for an old review: do it with style, or don't bother doing it at all! So says the Meister of style, Autobot Jazz.

New gallery for an old review: back in the days when "Ultra Magnus" usually meant a white-and-blue Optimus Prime repaint with no armor, Classics brought us one of the best of the lot.

GENERATIONS SELECTS RICOCHET
I skipped the Power of the Primes Jazz figure, and not just because of the political message someone painted on him. I figured that the previous CHUG incarnation of the character, Reveal the Shield Jazz, would be very hard to beat. But when a Ricochet repaint was announced for this figure, I decided to give it a try, seeing as I have a certain fondness for Ricochets / Steppers. So does a new paintjob improve a figure that is generally regarded as mediocre at best?

Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus was a decent figure, but lacked the fourth mode of the original figure and had several other areas to improve upon. Enter the DNA Upgrade Kit for the Throne of the Primes SDCC special edition of the figures. Gallery first, review coming soon.

Our newest gallery is online, featuring the obligatory repaint of Jazz, the bot called Ricochet (sometimes Stepper). Can a new paintjob transform a mediocre figure into something worth getting from the Generations Selects series? Well, don't count on it! Review coming soon.

CYBERVERSE SPARK ARMOR SKY-BYTE
I know little about the Cyberverse story, to be honest, beyond the basic outline. I have yet to see Sky-Byte in that cartoon. I do remember Sky-Byte from the original RID cartoon, though, and he was that cartoon’s breakout character as far as I’m concerned. He’s the greatest shark in town, the Haiku-quoting Predacon, the one who got away in the end. So let’s see how Sky-Byte fares in Cyberverse’s Spark Armor line.

New pictures for a very old review: Armada Cyclonus, he of the reckless attacks and tiny brain, who later traded in his helicopter blades for a pair of skis.

Today we were forced to say goodbye to a member of our family. Lilly has been with us for 15 years and was every bit as big a fan of toys as we are. Goodbye, Lilly. We will miss you terribly.

MASTERPIECE DINOBOT
For all that he was one of Beast Wars’ most beloved characters, saved all of humanity, and was the first fans’ choice for entering the Transformers Hall of Fame, Dinobot had to wait a very, very long time to get a good toy. Because let’s face it, his original Beast Wars figure never did figure out where to put the robot legs in beast mode, no matter how often it was repainted. Now we got a Masterpiece figure of him, though. Is he worth the hefty price tag he came with?

He is BIIIIIG Convoy. Which is ironic, seeing as the figure is smaller than Convoy (BW Optimus Primal) and Lio Convoy both, but still: BIIIIIIG Convoy! Leader of the Cybertrons (Maximals) in Beast Wars Neo, he of the original BFG (and with a trunk at the end, too). Reissued in the Encore series with cartoon accurate coloring. Here is his gallery, review coming soon.
